I had a lovely visit with the Capital Y's Menettes!

What a treat last evening to be invited to the Capital's February meeting. It was held at the lovely home of Jeannette Sauntry - she is a gracious hostess! Being your Regional Director is such fun.

The Capitals are a small but mighty group of dedicated women led by President Kay Furlong! During the meeting I was amazed at the amount of fundraising these women do. Last evening they wrote several cheques from this hard earned money to worthy causes. One was to the Fredericton YMCA to purchase special books for a literacy program for young children. Jean Pickles has fabric for new curtains and seat covers for the Y's Mens camp.

This photo is of Lynn Chedore (on left) showing photos of her recent trip to Barbados. Kay Furlong is looking at the photos with Carly and Yvonne. Lyla Lawrence in in the background. Lyla's partner Frank Lawrence and I served on the board of YMCA International Committee for several years.

Lillian Coughey was in attendance as well. Her partner David Coughey was the first International President of Y's Men who was from Canada. I believe the year was 1949. David and Lillian were my neighbours for many years until David's death  a couple of years ago. Lillian has moved to Churchland Estates at the UNB end of Church Street - she is still my neighbour!
